Alternative Fuel - What Is E85?

If you watched the Olympics, you probably noticed that General Motors launched a major advertising campaign, touting the fact that 1.5 million GM vehicles are able to run on E85, made from corn. If you’re new to the alternative fuel concept, perhaps you were left wondering exactly what E85 is.

The term E85 is derived from the blend of two different fuels, comprised of 85% ethanol (where the term E85 comes from) and 15% petroleum. How To Start Your Garden From Seeds The Right Way

Green house gardeners are typically of two minds when it involves planting. One group of gardeners prefers to use seedlings to start their gardens, while another group would rather feel the sense of accomplishment from planting seeds. It all depends on what you personally prefer.

True annuals are plants that will complete their life cycle within twelve months of sowing. Biennials require two growing seasons to do so and are usually sown in summer to flower during the following spring and summer.

Many other plants that botanists would define as perennial can be treated as annuals, although some are half-hardy and, while able to flower well for a single season, are not hardy enough to be used for more than one year. Half-hardy annuals are generally raised in a greenhouse, then ‘pricked out’ (transplanted, a few centimeters apart in larger boxes) and grown under protection before being planted out.

Cold Frame Greenhouse - Maximize The Natural Warmth Of The Sun

A cold greenhouse is not warmed by a heating device. The environment is warmer than the outside - this is due to the heat of the sun’s rays being trapped inside the covering material - be it glass or plastic - during the warm season, and heat accumulated in the soil being released back into the greenhouse during the fall.

In summer, cool air enters the greenhouse through side ventilators near the base of the wall, keeping a steady stream of fresh air flowing around the plants.
